A Trinitarian Benediction
A Trinitarian Benediction
Share
This new benediction composed by David Hill is accessible and effective for a wide variety of choirs. When performed by a volunteer choir, it is recommended to take straight-forward approach—a stately tempo with little variation, making the recommended omissions and perhaps even allowing an organ to double the parts. If done well, this simplicity will enhance the performance. A more advanced choir may revel in the many colors that the nearly exclusively pandiatonic harmonies create. The performance directive to sing “freely” at the beginning is permission to linger on certain harmonies that your group and/or venue may find particularly resonant or to pick up tempo in sections that seem to call for movement.
